In Ephesians Paul looks at the Christian life from its foundation in Christ to maturity in the faith in Christ. The theme “in Christ” appears repeatedly as he develops the doctrinal foundation of the Christian life, then as he explores the practical implications of the life in Christ. The student will nurture an appreciation for the place of the Ephesians within the larger context of the Pauline letters, the New Testament and the entire Bible, encouraging further study, reflection and application. This course will also nurture a fundamental passion and appreciation for the Word of God and to communicate this within the context and mission of a Lutheran congregation.
