DENOMINATIONAL AFFILIATION

American Lutheran Theological Seminary is the seminary of The American Association of Lutheran Churches (The AALC). ALTS is committed to providing theological education for The AALC which upholds the Constitution of The AALC and which serves her purpose, namely: “that the Triune God may be more fully known among men through a faithful ministry of God’s Word and the Sacraments” (The AALC Constitution, Art. V, Sec. 1). More specifically, ALTS trains pastors “to proclaim and propagate the eternal Gospel (of the Lord Jesus Christ) to the lost and weary of this world and to provide for daily renewal and sanctification of the members of (The AALC) congregations” (ibid., Sec. 2).
